Traffic School
Although Connecticut doesn't offer any type of traffic school that allows participants to dismiss tickets or have points taken off their license, the state does offer a few driving-related programs.
Your Connecticut License
In the State of Connecticut, driving is considered a privilege that must be earned. You can lose your driving privileges for a number of infractions and matters as varied as failure to pay child support, addiction to drugs or alcohol, failure to pay traffic violation fines, and even racing on the highway.

CONNECTICUT'S POINT SYSTEM

Although traffic violations are almost always issued by local or state police officers, all violations are reported to the DMV, which assesses and manages license points. Points remain in effect for 24 months after the date of assessment. Click on the topics below to view the details.

POINTS AND SUSPENSIONS

If you get six points on your driving record, expect a warning letter from the DMV. Get 10 or more points and your driver's license will be suspended for 30 days. Get another 10 points on your record and you'll lose your license for up to 24 months.
